Crimson website named award finalist

–Paso Robles High School’s Crimson Newsmagazine’s website last week was named a 2018
Online Pacemaker Finalist, the preeminent digital media award from the National Scholastic Press Association. The announcement places Crimson as top 11 in the state and top 42 nationwide among student websites dedicated to writing, photography, video and multimedia about their campus.

Twenty seven journalism students and teachers Jeff Mount and John Rucker will attend the National HS Journalism convention in San Francisco in April to collect their Pacemaker Finalist award– and find out if they will be one of the top 20 Pacemakers for 2018. Crimson has won only one other Pacemaker Finalist (2011) in its history of awards and its 15 Best of Show finishes at national contests since 2009. Crimson is led by seniors Valeria Cisneros, Kathryn Varian, Mason Seden-Hansen, and Emily Mowery. Content of the website is a joint effort among 90 students in multiple CTE classes dedicated to storytelling about the PRHS community.
