    Mike Hamers, John Prickett promoted to fire captain 


    –Paso Robles Emergency Services has announced that Mike Hamers and John Prickett were recently promoted to Fire Captain. To obtain this position, both candidates went through a comprehensive, rigorous assessment and interview process.

    Mike and John will be sworn in on April 5, at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers for anyone who would like to join in celebrating their achievement.

    Fire Captain Mike Hamers joined the department as a volunteer firefighter in 1994 and was hired fulltime in 2001. Mike is a member of the North County Technical Rescue Team and responsible for all Emergency Services communications. Mike grew up in Paso Robles and currently resides in Templeton with his wife and kids.

    Fire Captain/Paramedic John Prickett joined the department as a volunteer firefighter in 1987 and was hired fulltime in 2001. John has been a paramedic in SLO County for over 27 years. John is a Paramedic Field Training officer and was instrumental in implementing an AED program throughout the city. John grew up in Atascadero and currently resides in Paso Robles with his wife and kids.
