SLO Prosecutors endorse Dan Dow for District Attorney
–On March 6, 2018, the San Luis Obispo Prosecutor’s Association held a forum for the candidates for District Attorney. They heard from Challenger Cummins and we heard from incumbent District Attorney Dow. Both discussed their vision for the office and answered member questions during lively question and answer sessions. After hearing from both candidates, the membership voted and the results are overwhelming: 24 prosecutors voted to endorse Dow, 0 prosecutors voted to endorse challenger Cummins, and 7 prosecutors voted not to make any endorsement in the race.
The vote reflects a desire by the membership to continue their partnership with Dow in fighting for victims and justice in San Luis Obispo County. It also reflects a desire for stability in the leadership of the office. Dow has made a commitment to listen and respond to the concerns of the members, according to the association.
The San Luis Obispo Prosecutors Association is comprised of all 31 line level Deputy District Attorneys in San Luis Obispo.
