Inaugural ‘Showcase of cities’ coming to Mid-State Fair

–The California Mid-State Fair is inviting all cities, towns and unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County to participate in the inaugural Showcase of Cities at the 2018 California Mid-State Fair. Each community will be showcased in a dynamic and animated display located in the very large showcase windows of the Frontier Pavilion in Frontier Town.

Displays will feature the brightest and best aspects of each city or town, designed to encourage future opportunities for the viewer to discover hidden treasures and make visitation plans to specific attractions.

Interest is very high in this program with the cities of Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach and Morro Bay all making official commitments to participate, and the fair is strongly encouraging all communities to participate. Also joining the program is Visit SLO Cal which will be developing a showcase window. There is limited space still available and the fair encourages small towns with similar messaging to collaborate on a display case both can share. To encourage cities to show off their best, the fair will be organizing a “People’s Choice Award” honoring our fair guests’ favorite display.

Communities that wish to join in on the fun should contact California Mid-State Fair CEO, Michael H. Bradley before April 30 to reserve official space.

Additional information specifically related to the displays will be featured and promoted in the coming weeks so fair patrons can plan their trip to the fair.

The 2018 California Mid-State Fair runs July 18-29 and this year’s theme is “Ole, It’s Fiesta Time!” Connect with the California Mid-State Fair on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.
