    Bearcat sports results for Apr. 24-25 

    –Paso Robles High School Director of Athletics, Anthony Morales, has announced the results of Bearcat athletics for Apr. 24-25.

    Apr. 24

    Yesterday was another great day for PRHS Athletics.

    Men’s Tennis

    Paso had an away tennis match yesterday against Mission College Prep at Sinshimer Park. The Bearcats didn’t drop a set again for the second time against MCP, with a score of 18-0.

    Singles:
    Reese Eddy: 6-0, 6-0, 6-0
    Jason Belton: 6-0, 6-0, 6-3
    Chase Diedrich: 6-0, 7-5, 6-0

    Doubles:
    Ryan Stronks – Jake Dersham: 6-2, 6-0, 6-0
    Christian Fay- Christian Anaya: 6-0, 6-0, 6-3
    Jeb Baker- Brendon Mendoza: 6-0, 6-3, 7-5

    Paso is now 9-8 and 7-6 in league play. The Bearcats final away season match is on Thursday at St. Joseph High School.

    Baseball

    Yesterday Paso Robles traveled to Righetti High School and won 11-4. Wyatt Gidcumb had three hits and Lucas Climber had four hits to lead the Bearcats. Brad Tews pitched five innings for the win. Bearcats play today at 4:30 p.m. and at home vs Righetti High School.

    Swim

    Yesterday was our senior day at the Paso Robles Municipal Pool. The Swim and Dive Team recognized Captain Gavin Hughes, Zachary Tucker, John Nash, and Keeliah Keelan for their commitment to the Bearcats. In regards to the competition, we swam two swimmers per event. Ethan Moore dropped three seconds in the 200 free, Morgan Harrington dropped six in the butterfly, and freshman Carlotta Abascal dropped seven seconds in the 500.

    Yesterday was also the final swim meet at the Muni pool, as the construction of the new pool is underway. Our announcer was Ed Sauret. He is the father of our current head coach – Michael Sauret. Ed was a swimmer on the very first swim team in 1964 and he announced our final meet. We look forward to many more memories at the new Aquatics Complex, including being able to host our rivals Atascadero for the first time in six years.

    Final score was varsity girls: Mission 19 – Paso 78; varsity boys: Mission 33 – Paso 67.

    Men’s Volleyball

    Yesterday PRHS defeated Cabrillo High School in a non-league game. The Bearcats won the first three sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-10). The Bearcats are home tonight as they host Righetti High School for their final regular season home game. It’s also senior night. Game times are 4:30/5:30 p.m.

    Men’s Golf

    Yesterday men’s golf defeated Righetti High School. Today our Bearcats travel to Santa Maria to face the Warriors one more time and to close out the regular season.

    Softball

    San Luis Obispo 5 Paso Robles 1. Paso Robles lost its grip in the top of the 7th inning giving up four runs to the visiting Tigers and were unable to mount a comeback in our last at bat. PRHS is on the road today traveling to Pioneer Valley High School. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

    STUNT

    Yesterday our girls traveled to Riverside for the Southern Section Championships. Our girls performed to the best of their ability. However, we came up short losing 18-10 to the number one ranked team. We are very proud of our girls as they finished as undefeated league champs. We look forward to next season and making a run at the State Title.

    Apr. 25

    Men’s Golf

    In men’s golf, Paso Robles played back to back home and way matches against Righetti High School on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday the Bearcats hosted Righetti at The Paso Robles Golf Club and defeated the Warriors in a close match 449-458. Wednesday the two teams played at Rancho Maria Golf Course and the Bearcats were victorious in another competitive match 454-457. Joe Moles for Righetti was the overall medalist in both matches shooting 74 and 75. Paso Robles had low scores of 81 and 86 from Zach Smith and Colby Calloway. The Bearcats are now 8-5 in the PAC 8 and third place in the standings.

    Men’s Volleyball

    The Paso Robles Bearcats defeated the Righetti Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night. Set scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 26-24.

    A spirited group on Senior Night put together one of their best performances of the season as the Bearcats overpowered the Warriors on offense and matched the opposing defense dig for dig. Ramon Torres returned to the starting lineup for the first time in two weeks and racked up 33 assists. Ethan Todd led the offense with 16 kills while Marcus Stemper added eight, and Brock Williams and Hector Arteaga added seven kills. Genaro Zatarain had three aces and David Gonzalez had nine digs.

    The Bearcats improve to 16-10 overall (7-4 in league). We finish up our regular season on Tuesday at Mission Prep before awaiting placement in CIF.

    Baseball

    Yesterday the Paso Robles Bearcats defeated Righetti High School 1-0. The Bearcats lead the series 2-0 and travel to Righetti High School tomorrow for a 4:30 p.m. start.

    Track & Field

    Tomorrow our Track & Field team travels to Atascadero High School for the PAC 8 Preliminaries.
