August’s Featured Artist in the Library is Betty Scanlan

Paso Robles City Council Chambers/Library.
–August’s Featured Artist in the Paso Robles Library will be Betty Scanlan.
After a long career as a nurse and raising her family, Scanlan finally had time to take up her brushes and study watercolor. She has painted with many local masters, but her strongest influence has been John Barnard. Her favorite old master is Cezanne.
Scanlan has painted watercolor for fifteen years and enjoys painting her representation of landscapes both on the Central Coast and in the Sierra Nevadas. Her style is bold with strong contrasts and is evolving to be more free and impressionist.
Scanlan shares her Paso Robles home with her husband, Mike, and two cherished canine friends. She is a member of the Paso Robles Art Association, the SLO Watercolor Society and Arts Obispo.
The Paso Robles City Library is located at 1000 Spring Street and is open Monday – Friday 10-8, and Saturday 10-5. For more information on library programs and events, call (805) 237-3870 or visit www.prcity.com/library.
