–The Templeton Eagles lost their opening game 55-6 Friday Night. The Aptos Mariners highly touted Wing T offense proved unstoppable for Templeton. Despite the lopsided score, there were encouraging signs for the Eagles. Junior quarterback Zack Logan executed well. Senior Shane Simonin ran for up more than 100 yards. Sophomore Tyler Kaschewski ran several kick-offs back for good yardage and nearly broke one for a touchdown. Sophomore tight end Mason Barbour caught several passes. The 6’3”, 235 pound end proved difficult to stop after he caught the ball. Junior receiver Mario D’alfonso caught two consecutive passes-the first for 35 yards and the second in the end zone for the Eagles only score.
The Eagles host Mendota next Friday.
The Paso Robles Bearcats beat Frontier 17-14 at War Memorial Stadium. The Bearcats improve to 1-1. Next up for the Bearcats, El Diamonte in Visalia.
Atascadero lost to San Luis Obispo 21-14 in their home opener. Next Friday, Atascadero will host Stockdale of Bakersfield.
