Justin Winery to give 50k to 42 local teachers

The Justin School Grants program provides $50,000 to local schools each fall through a partnership with DonorsChoose.org, which allows teachers to post requests online for learning supplies or field trip funds that are then crowdfunded by friends, local businesses and the public.
“This is the perfect time of year to give back to our community, and we’re proud that the Justin School Grants program can help make a meaningful difference for our local schools,” said Matt Steel, General Manager of Justin Vineyards & Winery. “This was our third year awarding these grants, and the positive response from both teachers and our employees has been remarkable.”
One awardee was third-grade teacher Trina Nicklas at Winifred Pifer Elementary School, who used funds to purchase science tools including a temperature scanner, magnifying glasses, and audio recorders. “Through your generous donation, I will be able to teach STEM lessons daily,” said Mrs. Nicklas. “I can’t wait to get started on the spider science lesson with third graders that teaches inherited traits, and the pill bugs lesson that has first graders researching biomimicry and engineering robots!”
