Drink California’s best at Mission Square at the Mid-State Fair
–The California Mid-State Fair will showcase the Central Coast’s best craft beverages of 2019 during three separate events held at Mission Square during the California Mid-State Fair, July 17-28.
The events include The Gold Medal Wine Tasting and Wine Industry Awards on July 19, the Get Crafty Mixology Competition on July 21, and the Craft Beer Tasting and Awards on July 24. These ticketed events offer the opportunity to taste the diversity of San Luis Obispo County. Here’s what you need to know:
Gold Medal Tasting and Wine Industry Awards – Friday, July 19, 2019
48 wineries will pour their Gold Medal wines as awarded from the 2019 Central Coast Wine Competition.
Following the tasting is the Wine Industry Awards presentation. Announcements include: The winery of the year presented by Bank of America, winemaker, wine grape grower and wine industry persons of the year presented by the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and San Luis Obispo Coast Wine Collective.
Walk-around tasting: 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Get Crafty Mixology Competition – Sunday, July 21, 2019
Mixologists will partner with a winning spirit from the 2019 Central Coast Craft Spirit Competition to create a cocktail of his/her choice. Cocktails made will be featured in a 2-hour tasting.

Craft Beer Awards and Tasting – Wednesday, July 24, 2019
Central Coast Brewer’s Guild presents 2nd annual Craft Beer Tasting and Awards, where the Brewmaster of the Year will be announced. Meet brewmasters and taste craft beers from the 14 participating brewers in a 2-hour tasting.
