Highway 101 improvement project in San Miguel continues next week

Motorists can expect full ramp closures in the following locations beginning Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 6 a.m. until Friday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. during this paving operation:
- Southbound US 101 on-ramp at the Camp Roberts over-crossing
- Southbound US 101 on/off-ramps at the South Camp Roberts overhead
- Northbound US 101 on/off-ramps at the South Camp Roberts overhead
Motorists may detour to the next on/off ramps in most cases. Motorists traveling northbound on US 101 wishing to exit at the South Camp Roberts Overhead may detour via the 10th Street off-ramp to Mission Street. Motorists wishing to access the northbound US 101 at the South Camp Roberts Overhead (North Mission Street) may detour south on Mission Street to the US 101 northbound on-ramp at 10th Street.
This project includes a realignment of US 101 to accommodate a new right hand southbound on-ramp at South Mission Street, paving US 101 and nearby ramps and lowering the profile of US 101 at Camp Roberts to achieve a minimum bridge clearance height. Drainage systems, guardrail and lighting will also be improved within this corridor.
The contractor for this $53 million project is Security Paving of Sylmar, CA. It’s scheduled to be complete by the Spring of 2020. The public may learn more about these highway upgrades on the Caltrans District 5 Projects page: https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-5
