SLO County could see power shutoffs

The utility company has begun shutting off power during high fire risk conditions in an effort to avoid disasters like the Camp Fire in northern California in 2018, which was sparked by a PG&E transmission line. In September, PG&E filed a joint Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California as it faces more than $30 billion in potential liability costs.
In the event of a power shutoff, PG&E will attempt to contact you via telephone, text, and email. Click here for the latest information as the area and number of customers impacted are updated as weather conditions change.
Outages could last longer than 48 hours, according to PG&E. For planning purposes, PG&E suggests customers prepare for outages that could last several days.
