Assemblyman introduces resolution dedicating highway to SLO Stringer
–This week Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R- Templeton) introduced a bill which would dedicate a portion of Highway 101 from Avila Beach Drive to Spyglass Drive in San Luis Obispo County to Matthew “SLOStringer” Frank. “SLOStringer” was followed by thousands for his coverage of public safety news on the Central Coast.
“He chased breaking news across the Central Coast, reporting on social media with tremendous talent,” Cunningham said. “Through social media, Matthew provided the community with real-time information on current events, on road closures, on crime, and on fires. I speak on behalf of all San Luis Obispo County when I say he will be dearly missed.”
Matthew Frank was a photographer and news gatherer who responded to breaking local news throughout San Luis Obispo County. He lost his life in a car crash on the morning of March 21, 2017, while driving to report on a house fire in Atascadero. Hundreds of community members honored Frank at a recent memorial, including local law enforcement and firefighters. Matthew Frank was widely appreciated by the first responders he covered as a voice for public safety.
Assemblyman Cunningham proudly represents all of San Luis Obispo County and a portion of Santa Barbara County, including the cities of Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Paso Robles, Grover Beach, Lompoc, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Templeton, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria and surrounding communities.
