Library to host book group discussion of ‘Sacrament’ April 15

    – The Paso Robles City Library will host its monthly book group for a discussion of this year’s Cuesta Book of the Year selection, “Sacrament” by Susan Straight, on Wednesday, April 15, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Story Hour Room.

The novel follows a group of nurses working in the ICU at a hospital in San Bernardino during a COVID-19 surge in August 2020.

Characters Larette Embers, Cherrise Martinez, and Marisol Manalang live in a makeshift RV camp near the hospital, where they share food and cigarettes while keeping their work private to protect their families.

The title is available in regular print through the Black Gold Library System and as an eBook and audiobook through the library’s Libby digital platform.

    Registration is open now.
