– Janet Mildred Smith was born on the 4th of May, 1944 in Seattle, Washington, a city she held dear throughout her life. She grew up with a passion for helping others, a trait that led her to the field of nursing. She attended Seattle University from 1945 to 1948, where she earned her nursing diploma. In 1950, a significant milestone was reached in her personal life. She married her beloved Arnold, a union that brought her tremendous joy and companionship.
The couple shared many happy moments together, their love story being one of her most cherished memories. Her career started in earnest in 1950 when she utilized her nursing qualifications at the Seattle General Hospital. She served diligently from 1950 to 1955, where her compassionate care touched many lives and made a significant impact in her community.
In 1952, she experienced one of the most joyful moments of her life: the birth of her first child, Amelia. The arrival of her daughter brought a new dimension to her life and amplified her nurturing nature. Aside from her professional and familial commitments, Janet had a fondness for certain hobbies. She was an avid reader, finding solace and contentment in the world of books. Gardening was another passion of hers, where she loved toiling in the soil and watching her plants flourish.
Music was also a source of comfort and joy for her. Janet lived her life with the firm belief that compassion and care for others was one of the most noble paths one could walk. Her journey, marked by dedication, love, and service, ended on the 4th of Aug., 2018. Her life was a testament to her values, and her legacy continues to inspire those who knew her.
