Teen bikes through California to Mexico for charity

The approximately 1,000-mile, 18-day ride kicked off in Brookings, Oregon and ends in San Ysidro, California on July 24. The Napa Police Officers’ Association is generously covering all of Travis’ expenses, so all donations go directly to the CPOMF. Traveling from 60 to almost 100 miles per day, Risley arrives in Orcutt from San Simeon on July 18 then on to Santa Barbara on July 19. With only three days off to recharge, Risley expects to reach the Mexico border on July 24. The first day off was in Napa, Risley’s hometown, followed by Paso Robles then Newport Beach on July 22. Risley’s journey can be followed on Facebook. Donations can be made on the CPOMF donation page.
The CPOMF is a nonprofit charitable foundation whose mission is to recognize and honor California’s peace officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and provide support to their surviving family members.
