    Update: Vehicle crashes into building near auditorium at Vineyard Elementary

    California Highway Patrol has released additional details regarding a collision that occurred at Vineyard Elementary School in Templeton Monday.

    The driver has been identified as 52-year-old Paso Robles resident Mark Johnson. Johnson was driving a 2007 Land Rover. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.

    Johnson stated to authorities that he was in line in the parking lot to pick up his child from school, when he began choking on his drink. He said he became light headed and hit the accelerator on the vehicle. His vehicle crashed into a building near the cafeteria, and injured a maintenance worker, identified as 67-year-old John Fahey. Fahey’s injuries were minor, according to CHP. No children or other parties were injured as a result of the crash.

    –Templeton CHP responded to a call of a vehicle collision at Vineyard Elementary School in Templeton on Monday.

    A solo vehicle reportedly ran into a building near the auditorium, according to CHP.

    One person was transported as precaution with a complaint of pain.
