12th Annual Paso Robles Dog Jog canceled
–Due to the uncertainties surrounding the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the 12th Annual Paso Robles Dog Jog, scheduled for May 2, at Riverstar Vineyards, has been canceled for this year. The event is a benefit for the Paso Robles Sherwood Dog Park located on Scott Street in Paso Robles.
“Our Dog Jog is a fun family event that allows the public to actively help support the ongoing maintenance and improvements at the park,” said Larry Miller, Sherwood Dog Park’s board president. “We regret the need to cancel the 2020 version but current health concerns and uncertainties leave us no choice. I want to thank the site sponsor, Riverstar Vineyards, for their cooperation as well as our many vendors and sponsors. We will keep them and the public posted on our 2021 Dog Jog plans.”
About Sherwood Dog Park
Sherwood Dog Park “Where Dogs Take Flight” opened in Paso Robles April 2012 as a result of the grassroots efforts of a few hard-working community members with help from Parks4Pups, a nonprofit organization.
It is the only dog park in Paso Robles, staffed entirely by volunteers, and is located at 290 Scott Street adjacent to the Senior Center. The 1.25-acre park is cross fenced for separate big and small dogs. Ground cover consists of recycled wood chips. Shade is available under the shade structures and numerous mature trees located throughout the park. Dog bags, drinking water, tennis balls and rackets, and a dunking pool are enjoyed by the dogs. Park benches and picnic tables are enjoyed by the dog owners.
Park visitors are asked to contribute a day-use fee of $1 in the collection box at the park entrance. Optionally, consider pledging a $25 annual membership. For details please check out parks4pups.org.
Sherwood Dog Park is paid for from private donations, park day use, membership fees and fundraisers such as the Dog Jog. To make a membership pledge or donation to Sherwood Dog Park of Paso Robles, mail check payable to Sherwood Dog Park, PO Box 4022, Paso Robles, CA 93447
