14u Bearcats heading to nationals 

–The 14u Bearcats have are having a tremendous All-Star Season with more to come. On the weekend of June 3, 2017, they participated in their first Central California USA (CCUSA) Softball tournament in Arroyo Grande. The Bearcats went undefeated in that tournament beating the Bakersfield Blast 6-3 in the Championship Game. The next weekend they traveled to Lemoore, where they again emerged as champions. The Bearcats showed heart when they traveled into the Northern California Pre-Qualifier in Salinas where, due to injuries, played with only 8 players clawing their way into the Semi-Final game.

“These ladies are proof that hard work, positive attitude, and effort pays off,” Head Coach Chris LaPraim said. “They have proven when you work together as a team and put your wants aside, you can achieve greatness.”

After tending to their wounds, the Lady Bearcats went into the “B” CCUSA Association Championship in Clovis determined and on a mission. The Bearcats did not disappoint, outscoring their opponents in the tournament 44-14 before losing in the Championship Game.

“A lot of people counted this team out in the beginning,” said Paso Robles Girls Softball League (PRGSL) President Dayna Sciocchetti, “They’ve proven they have the character needed to accomplish the task at hand. They are a lot of fun to watch”

Now the Bearcats again turn their attention Northbound as they travel to the Western National Championship to play the best teams in the Western United States.

Lead by coaches Chris LaPraim, Dayna Sciocchetti, and Alan Sciocchetti, the Bearcats include athletes from all over North County including Atascadero, Lake Naciemento, Paso Robles, San Miguel, Shandon, and Templeton.

2017 14u “B” Bearcats include: Zayda LaPraim, Rowan Sciocchetti, Ciarra Yarger, Sophia Mullinix, Ayden Anderson, Trinity Holland, Hailey Newell, McKenna Smith, Natalie Castillo, Siena Sagely, Haylee Dye, and Faith Hawkins.
