2 Pair Poker Tour coming to Paso in April

Paso Robles Casino plans to bring visitors to Paso this April and August as it hosts the 2 Pair Poker Tour. Rob Ezzell, operator of Paso Robles Casino, secured the tour to come to Paso Robles in April and again in August.

The tour is held around the western United States with each season concluding with the tour championship. The tournaments are streamed live on 2Pairpoker.net.

Poker professionals and non-professionals along with poker celebrities travel to each location to compete. Celebrity sports broadcaster Lon McEachern, the ambassador of the tour and the host of The World Series of Poker on ESPN, will be present and participating in the events on April 8 and 9.

The tournaments are open to both professional and novice players. Buy-in is $385 for the Paso Robles leg of the tour. Lower buy-in separate tournaments will be available the first two days, April 8 and 9. Buy-in amounts for those tournaments are $90 and $125.

The first tournament will be held April 8 through 12 and the second tournament will be held in August. The April tournament is anticipating over 100 players competing over the five days. August is a seven-day tournament with over 100 anticipated attendees, 60 percent of which will be coming from outside of the area.

Sunni Mullinax, Paso Robles Chamber President/ CEO said “The economic impact of the two tournaments is significant for Paso Robles with projections of over 660 room nights for both tournaments in one year. With over 60 percent of the tournament attendees traveling to Paso, the area will benefit from the new form of entertainment offered to visitors by the Paso Robles Casino.”

The 2 Pair Poker Tour is a series of regional poker tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $385 to $880. Held at local casino properties around the western United States, each season concludes with the tour championship. Signature event winners throughout the season earn a seat into the championship, entry into the 2 Pair Presidents Club, have their name etched on the tour trophy, as well as receive a replica of the trophy.
