23-year-old steps in front of car, killed, report says
–Early Tuesday morning at 12:29 a.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a distraught male running from his residence on O’Connor Way.
As deputies were responding, the victim reportedly stepped in front of and was struck by an oncoming southbound vehicle on West Foothill Blvd.
The victim, San Luis Obispo resident Austin Joseph Ryan, 23, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The motorist, a 43-year-old female resident of Los Osos is not suspected of impairment.
The investigation into the manner and cause of death is continuing by Sheriff coroner investigators. Next of kin has been notified.
