As of now, Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association Executive Director Norma Moye said that there are 13 tickets for the 24th annual Victorian Teddy Bear Tea still available. The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Park Ballroom at 1232 Park St., #200.

“If we sell out, we start taking names in case someone cancels,” Moye said.

The event, chaired by Terrie Banish, will feature gingerbread cookies, candy canes and tea at 24 tables, allowing for a total of 216 attendees, along with teddy bears. The guests are evenly split between adults and children, Moye said. In addition, the Snow King and Queen, Santa and Mrs. Claus, elves, Victorian friends and Elsa from “Frozen” will visit with all those at the tea.

“The kids have a ball,” Moye said. “Everyone has a wonderful time. I think the grownups have as much fun.”

The event will also include music, storytelling, gingerbread cookie decorating, candy canes, pictures to color and door prizes for both adults and children. Artistry in Motion, Moye said, will open the event with a dance and John Deccia will get the kids singing.

This event ends a chain of holiday events in Paso Robles hosted by the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association. Moye said it begins when the downtown businesses open their doors for the annual Elegant Evening in early November. Santa and Mrs. Claus get word of the fun happening in Paso Robles, so Mrs. Claus travels to Paso Robles for its annual tree lighting ceremony held the day after Thanksgiving. Mrs. Claus has a special part of the celebration by flipping on the lights in Downtown City Park. Moye said that it lights the way for Santa to then travel to Paso Robles for the Paso Robles Light Parade the following Saturday. The next Saturday Santa and Mrs. Claus visit with children at the annual Vine Street Showcase. The final event that Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend in Paso Robles before Christmas is the Victorian Teddy Bear Tea.

Tickets to the tea are $7 for children 12 and younger and $15 for adults. For more information, call (805) 238-4103 or go to www.pasoroblesdowntown.org.
