Police investigate shooting in Meadowlark Farms neighborhood
Early Tuesday morning at about 5:56 a.m., Paso Robles Police Department officers were dispatched to the Meadowlark Farms neighborhood of Paso Robles regarding reports of gun shots heard. Upon arrival at the 800 block of Sycamore Canyon Road, officers located a 34-year-old male resident of the neighborhood who reported he was assaulted by a man.
The victim told officers he was preparing to leave for work when he was confronted near his work truck by a male Hispanic suspect with a handgun. The suspect began chasing the victim from his work truck while firing the gun. The victim was not struck by the gunfire and there were no injuries reported by residents of the neighborhood. However, investigators determined several cars in the neighborhood sustained damage from the gunfire.
Police detectives were unable to locate any witnesses after a canvass of the neighborhood. The victim of the shooting reported the suspects fled in a black full-size SUV, possibly a Cadillac after the shooting. The victim said he believed two more men were in the SUV along with the suspect. The victim described the primary suspect as a Hispanic male adult, wearing a black “hoodie” and a baseball cap.
