Letter: Thank you for helping to make first ever Paso Pops a success

To the editor,Submit news of Letter to the editor

The Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles, Paso Pops’ Organizing Committee and The San Luis Obispo Symphony would like to thank all of the businesses that contributed services at discounted rates, sponsors that carried the financial load, volunteers that worked hard to make Paso Pops a safe, fun and family-friendly patriotic event, and the community for it’s supportive, patient and overwhelming turnout.

We’ve taken note of all of the issues that came with the large inaugural Paso Pops response, and have already begun work to build on its success and make further improvements.

We are proud to have pulled off this very complicated event as a volunteer effort benefitting non-profit youth arts organizations here on the Central Coast. We are also happy to have made it a home grown program. Everyone on the stage could drive home.

We hope to have our website up for next year’s event later this summer. Stay tuned at www.pasopops.org.

    Cheers!

    Steve Cass
    Producer, Paso Pops
    Paderewski Festival Board of Directors

Does anyone know the date of next year's Paso Pops?

    Kelly Johnson

It was a great event. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, music, and fireworks. Just need a little more planning for the food trucks although we met very nice people while waiting in line.

Wish all this effort would go into an event on July 4th- so unfortunate that our city isn't offering a July 4th event with fireworks- I can assure you in the past years we have had visitors from out of town who came specifically for the July 4th event —which in turn brought money to hotels, wineries and restaurants. Now they pass thru Paso on their way to coastal activities.

    Laurie Ridgeway

I heard it was always supposed to be the Saturday closest to the 4th…

Laurie Ridgeway thank you, makes sense.

    Paula O'Farrell

    July 1, 2017 confirmed

Oh good, Canada Day next year! We enjoyed the concert but have two suggestions for 2017: have 2 speakers halfway back and raise the tv about 10 feet higher (or more). We will be there next year for sure! Thank you Steve Cass and volunteers.
