5th annual Cayucos Sea Glass Festival set for March 14-15

SeaGlassFestival

The 5th annual Cayucos Sea Glass Festival will take place March 14–15 at the Cayucos Vet’s Hall. Over the past five years, the festival has gained international attention from world renowned sea glass aficionados. Sea glass enthusiasts and craftspeople from around the world will converge in this quaint beach town every March to sell and showcase their sea glass creations, jewelry, keepsakes and treasures. Attendees will quickly discover why sea glass collecting has become such a popular hobby along coastal regions worldwide.

Sea glass pieces are affectionately known as “Mermaid Tears” and mermaids have become an integral addition to the festival. New this year is “Mermaid March” and through the month of March, Cayucos businesses will be displaying their own individual artistic creations of mermaids. Visitors are invited to stroll through town to admire the creative art forms ranging from stained glass and paper mache mermaids to metal and wooden mermaid sculptures. The Mermaid March is sure to delight all who find joy in these maidens and mermen from the sea.

This year, festival goers will enjoy live music from local bands such as Thunder Canyon String Band, Back Bay Betty and the Mystery Brothers. Local beer, wine and food will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed while overlooking one of the best beaches on the Central Coast.
