7.1 earthquake strikes in Ridgecrest, Calif.

–A magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck 11 miles from Ridgecrest yesterday at approximately 8:19 p.m.

This quake comes just one day after a powerful and damaging 6.4-magnitude quake on July 4.

News agencies are calling this 7.1 quake the most powerful quake to hit California in over 20 years. There were multiple reports of damage and injuries. More aftershocks are a possibility, according to reports.
