Morro Bay man arrested downtown with loaded gun, meth
Officers received report that man was following a female during nighttime hours
– Officers and a sergeant with the Morro Bay Police Department responded to a call regarding a suspicious male near the downtown and Main Street area of Morro Bay, according to a recent Facebook post by the Morro Bay Police Department. Officers located the male, later identified as Daniel Tiss, after a report that he was following a female during nighttime hours.
During a brief contact and initial investigation, officers determined Tiss was under the influence of a controlled substance. Due to the nature of the call and prior contacts with Tiss, officers conducted a pat-down for weapons.
While conducting the pat-down, officers felt an object resembling a firearm in a shoulder holster. They subsequently located a loaded .38-caliber handgun concealed on Tiss’s person. Additionally, officers found a usable amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other weapons.
Tiss was booked into the local jail on multiple charges.
