Amendment will allow lawns so long as they take up no more than 25-percent of overall landscaping
–At Tuesday night’s Paso Robles City Council Meeting, the council voted 4-1 to amend a landscaping ordinance that will allow single family residential front yards to include turf, meeting that no more than 25-percent of the total landscaping is turf. Councilman Jim Reed was the one dissenting vote.
The new amendment will add language that will allow for the installation of up to 25-percent of turf in new and rehabilitated single family residential front yards, subject to complying with state and city water use and irrigation requirements.

Council votes to limit lawns to comply with state order
–At the most recent Paso Robles City Council meeting, the council adopted a new landscape ordinance tightening restrictions on water consuming landscapes in new construction.
The new restrictions, designed to comply with state turf reduction ordinances, will ban grass from front yards on all new residential construction, however, according to Paso Robles Community Development Director Warren Frace, the ordinance will be soon amended to allow for landscaping that can include front lawns, as long as they are not more than 25-percent of the total landscaping space of the property.
The restrictions will comply with a state law that says that no more than 25-percent of the landscaping space available can be turf. The new ordinance will take effect at the beginning of the new year.

Not sure when the ordinance was introduced for first reading, but when it is, it is read for second reading and then becomes law after 30 days. You have time to protest. Send letters and attend the reading of the ordinance to protest.
