Chamber solicits input on medical marijuana dispensaries

Chamber survey sent to email subscribers, posted on FacebookMedical-Cannabis1

The Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce is soliciting public opinion regarding medical marijuana dispensaries with a survey. The chamber sent the survey out to their email subscribers, and they also put the survey link on their Facebook.

Questions ranged from, “Should medical marijuana facilities (collectives, cooperatives or dispensaries) be allowed in Paso Robles?” To, “If you have been to a medical marijuana dispensary, did you have concerns for your safety?”

The survey was meant for chamber members, as well as email subscribers and the general public, according to Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce President Gina Fitzpatrick. The results of the survey will be collected, and then presented to the chamber board at their April 28 meeting, where they will decide if the results will be presented to the public. If the board approves, the chamber will present the results to the Paso Robles City Council at their May 3 meeting.

The chamber released the survey, “in response to the California Medical Marijuana Regulation and Safety Act, which set a March 1 deadline for local governments to have laws in place governing medical marijuana cultivation,” according to the survey.

Earlier this year, the council adopted a complete ban on cultivation, saying that the item could be revisited, and saying that there needed to be a more complete evaluation of the issues. The chamber released the survey independently from the council.

Medical marijuana is something that every city needs to allow for the benifit of those that are truely in need. If the city council would look up the miraculous things that marijuana can help, they would understand the need. Please consider the people with arthritis, fibermyalgia, migranes, and a plethora of other problems that can be helped with marijuana usage. Thank you!
