    Two recent fires hail start of fire season 

    Fire at Irongate, Creston

    Fire at Irongate, Creston was contained to 2.5 acres on Sunday, May 1.

    Engine and aircraft made good progress on Irongate and San Juan Road fires

    –On Sunday, May 1 Cal Fire contained a fire at Irongate Road, in Creston and on Friday, April 29 on San Juan Road east of Santa Margarita, with fire crews, engine and aircraft making good progress to contain the fires. The Irongate fire was contained to 2.5 acres and the San Juan Road fire was contained to 15 acres.  No further information on these fires is available at this time.

    Last week, the Cal Fire Paso Robles Air Base officially opened for the 2016 fire season. The air base emergency response air program includes two Grumman S-2T 1,200 gallon air tankers, and two OV-10A air tactical aircraft, the aircraft can reach most fires within 20 minutes.
