What a wonderful thing to do.
Hi, I just wanted to add an update to this story. Stacks the dog did not have surgery other than being anesthetized for his exam and x-rays. He was thought to perhaps have a hernia, but was expected to make a full recovery. He was scheduled for a follow up exam a few days after his initial visit; unfortunately despite very good care by the vet, he ended up passing away which was very sad for all involved. It's lovely to be recognized, but frankly, I don't think this should be news. It was just a neighbor helping out a neighbor, and I like to think anyone would have done same thing under the circumstances. Mary Baron
Thank you Mary Baron for your kindness to both Stacks and his owner. And thank you to the Paso City council for publicly recognizing this very special citizen. So sorry for the homeless woman who lost her companion – just wondering…did the vet assist with some of the expenses?
Mary Baron, we truly thank you and wish there were hundreds more of you out there! Yes, it is just what we do, sometimes not everyone is in the financial position to do the right thing, but for those that are, it was a heartfelt gift. You and probably others out there are some of the angles for animals and people. Thank you Mary Baron!
Mary Baron, you are wonderful. I believe those who choose to help those who have less are the people who teach others. Kindness is rare and for me, it restores my faith that we all will learn lessons in humanity. Thank you for being a wonderful example. rip Stacks and hope for the man who is probably pretty lonely right now. I hope life will start looking up for him.
