Central Coast Packaging and Design Competition unveils winners 

–The Central Coast Packaging and Design Competition has announced the award-winning labels and packaging from the event, held June 19 at the California Mid-State Fair. All submissions evaluated were participants of the 2018 Central Coast Wine Competition held June 20-21. Award recipients were also named for Packaging and Design of the Central Coast Vinegar Competition and the California Craft Spirits Competition.

The Most Evocative of the Central Coast award winners are:
Gold: Kitá Wines, 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
Silver: Ancient Peaks, 2016 Merlot
Bronze: Santa Barbara Winery, 2016 Pinot Noir

The Classic award winners are:
Gold: Robert Hall Winery, Austerity, 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon
Silver: Bella Luna Estate Winery, 2013 Grosso
Bronze: Adelaida Vineyards, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon

The Modern award winners are:
Gold: Guarachi Wine Partners, 2016 Tenshen Rosé
Silver: Rails Nap, 2015 Aner
Bronze: Grey Wolf Cellars, 2017 Soulmate Rosé

The Untraditional award winners are:
Gold: Bushong Vintage Company, 2016 Ananda
Silver: Graveyard Vineyards, 2016 SCREAM
Bronze: Grey Wolf Cellars, 2016 LIT

The Artistic Brand Series award winners are:
Gold: Niven Family Wines, 2016 Tangent Sauvignon Blanc
Silver: Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards, 2016 “The Kiss” Estate Sparkling Chardonnay
Bronze: Broken Earth Winery, 2017 La Belle

The Overall Best Packaging and Design award winners for the California Craft Spirits Competition are:
Gold: Wine Shine Distillery, Manhattan Project
Silver: Loch & Union Distilling, Barley Gin
Bronze: Graton Distilling Co., D. George Benham’s Vodka

The Overall Best Packaging and Design award winner for the Central Coast Vinegar Competition is:
Aris Vinegar, Pomegranate

The judging took place at Estrella Hall on June 19 at the California Mid-State Fair. The team of judges for the Packaging and Design Competition consisted of professional creatives from the local community, including Kraftwerk Design, Pretty Media Creations, Edible SLO Magazine, Newman Creative Studios and Studios on the Park.
