– The Adoptable Pet of the Week this week is Jasper, a 5-week-old Australian cattle dog mix available through Novy’s Ark Dog Rescue and Adoption.
Rescue staff said Jasper’s mother was taken in from the Salinas animal shelter shortly before she gave birth. She delivered nine puppies, including five males and four females.
According to the rescue, Jasper is social and playful. His mother is smaller than a typical cattle dog and has a calm temperament.
Jasper will not be available to go home until he is 8 weeks old. People interested in adopting him can complete an application at novysark.org.
