Gentle Madison seeks loving home
– The Adoptable Pet of the Week this week is Madison, a one-year-old, 27-pound dog from Novy’s Ark Canine Rescue and Adoption. Rescued from the streets of Bakersfield after a three-month effort, Madison had a litter of puppies that unfortunately did not survive. Initially terrified of people, Madison was eventually caught in a trap when she became hungry enough. Despite her fear, she showed no aggression and was gentle with her rescuers.
Since being placed in a foster home, Madison has made significant progress. Though initially hesitant, she now runs towards people and interacts with a puppy in her yard, enjoying playtime and wrestling. Madison has also learned to use a dog door and comes inside for food and water. She will need a patient home where she can continue to build trust and adapt.
