– Wanda, a 7.5-pound Pomeranian, is this week’s Adoptable Pet of the Week from Novy’s Ark Canine Rescue and Adoption. This six-year-old pup is affectionate and bonds strongly with her caretaker. Wanda is playful and active but also enjoys lounging on laps and being carried around. She’s a “velcro” dog who follows her foster closely, occasionally stopping to ask to be picked up.
Wanda loves walks, showing off a prance, and enjoys standing up to dance for treats. She is learning to take treats gently. Wanda gets along with her foster mom’s dog, engaging in short play sessions before shifting her attention back to people. Though there are four foster kittens in the home, she shows no interest in them. Wanda is potty trained but subtle with her signals; if missed, she reliably uses a potty pad indoors. Wanda would do well in a home with or without other pets, though she prefers to be the center of attention in true Pomeranian fashion.
