Adoptable pet of the week: Katie

Special needs cat available for no adoption feeKatie

–This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pet of the Week features special needs cat Katie form North County Humane Society.

Katie is a lovely long haired Siamese cat. She has white feet, which give her the look of a Birman. She is 3 or 4 years old, and has been at NCHS for one year where she lives in the cat isolation room with other cats who have tested positive for FIV.

FIV is like the feline “equivalent” to the AIDs virus. This means FIV cats should live indoor only and live in a single cat household or with other cats that are similarly infected. Cats with FIV may live long lives, but NCHS can’t provide a health guarantee, so Katie is available to the right home with no adoption fee.

Katie is a beautiful cat, and quite the sweetheart.  Are you the special person that can bring Katie home and into your family?

NCHS has many cats available for adoption; they can be viewed on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are encouraged to visit NCHS to find the right cat for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located in Atascadero, just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit, at 2300 Ramona Rd. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information is provided on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403.
