Adoptable pets of the week: Brogan and Lilly

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features Brogan and Lilly.

The featured cat this week is Lilly from the North County Humane Society, a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center in Atascadero.Lilly

Lilly is an 8-year-old “snowshoe” cat that first came to NCHS in 2014 when her family moved out of the area. She was adopted to a new home for about a year until family circumstances changed and cat allergies made it necessary to bring her back to NCHS. She has now been at the shelter for about two months and is ready for a forever home.

Lilly is sweet and affectionate, and she enjoys a good cuddle in a nice, large, comfortable lap. She is an indoor cat and gets along well with other cats. Lilly qualifies for the NCHS “Senior for Senior” program, and can be adopted by a senior over 55 at no charge. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is ready to join the right household today.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403.

Brogan before and afterThe featured dog of the week is Brogan from Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs.

Brogan is the perfect 56 lb, 10 yr old senior girl. Brogan is now free from her torturous past and bears no grudges. She only asks for one thing…a home and family to call her own.

Bred multiple times, Brogan lived her life chained to a junk yard, nearly starved to death. On the day she was rescued, it was not certain she would even make it through the night. But now, Brogan is healthy, happy and well adjusted. This amazing girl is perfect, even after her horrific treatment for so many years.

Brogan is very social with other dogs. She’s an angel in the house, with low energy and a calm demeanor. She adores walks and loves to ride in the car. Brogan would fit into anyone’s world.

For information about adopting Brogan, visit the website or call (805) 434-3982.
