– The Adoptable Pet of the Week this week is a special pair from Novy’s Ark Canine Rescue. Meet Chance, a resilient one-year-old Dogo Argentino/Border Collie mix who overcame a harrowing past with metal wires wrapped around his neck. Rescued and rehabilitated, Chance found an unexpected companion in Chelsea, a little Border Collie mix abandoned and starving in a Bakersfield orchard.
Chelsea’s plight was brought to light by a compassionate volunteer who shared her story and photos from a high-kill shelter. The two dogs, once introduced, formed an inseparable bond that surpassed expectations. They now nap with legs entwined and spend their days playing and wrestling, embodying a remarkable connection.
While Novy’s Ark Canine Rescue typically doesn’t adopt out bonded pairs, Chance and Chelsea’s extraordinary relationship has led them to seek a forever home together. Both dogs are affectionate, sweet, fixed, and housebroken. The rescue is calling on the community to help fulfill a Valentine’s dream for these inseparable companions, ideally finding a home with someone who has suitable property for an instant doggie family.
