Adoptable pets of the week: Lola and Samurai

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features Lola and Samurai.Lola

The featured dog of the week is Lola from Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs.

Lola, like many dogs at Second Chance, had a rocky start to life and was saved from the local pound. This sweet 57 lb four-year-old black and white American Pit mix doesn’t let her bad luck get her down.

She is a happy girl enjoying life. She is great with dogs and enjoys being around the pack.

Lola is a wonderful girl, submissive and eager to please. She loves her daily walks and would make a great partner for family outings. All she needs now is a loving family to call her own that will give her the second chance she deserves.

For information about adopting Lola, visit the website or call (805) 434-3982.

The featured cat this week is Samurai from the North County Humane Society, a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center in Atascadero.samurai

Samurai is a six-month-old black and white tuxedo cat. He’s a playful “teenager” looking for a forever home. He was adopted several months ago with his teen buddy Sandler, but Samurai was brought back to NHCS when the family moved and could not keep him.

Samurai has mellowed out since returning to NCHS. He loves to hang out in the dish drainer by the sink and sip from the faucet if left running for him. He is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped and is ready to join the right household today.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403.
