Adoptable pets of the week: Sammy and Gadget

Sammy cat of the week

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features Sammy the tabby cat and Terrier mix Gadget.

The featured cat this week is Sammy from the North County Humane Society, a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center in Atascadero.

Sammy is a lovely one-year-old, short hair, brown and orange tabby cat. This little girl was turned in at NCHS from a family that was moving at the end of July with her four fluffy orange kittens. The kittens have found new homes and it is time for Sammy to be adopted.

Sammy is friendly and affectionate, gets along with kids and other cats, and has been both indoor and outdoor. She is now spayed, microchipped and has received her vaccinations. Sammy is ready to go home with a new family today.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403, and ask for the “Crazy Cat Lady.”

Gadget

The featured dog of the week is Gadget from Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs.

Gadget was recently pulled from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles just in the nick of time and is waiting to have his second chance at finding love. Gadget is fun two-year-old old Cairn Terrier mix weighing in at13 lbs. Despite his small size this little guy is full of personality.

He is active, adores his walks and loves other dogs. Gadget is a healthy boy eager to find his new home. This young guy can get overly excited with toys and people and will need a good pack leader. He takes commands really well and ready to find his new home.

For information about adopting Gadget, visit the website or call (805) 434-3982.
