–Continue with the Library’s travel-themed Summer Reading Program and de-stress on Friday, Aug. 10, 6-8 p.m. by enjoying a relaxing and reenergizing evening of coloring with the Library’s Adult Coloring Club. Using pencils and pens, “visit” Asia, coloring from the book, The Colors of Asia.

Why would adults want to color? Engaging in activities such as coloring can contribute to your well-being; by providing quiet and focus, coloring reduces stress by stimulating the part of the brain that causes relaxation. The process of coloring has been found to have the same therapeutic qualities as meditation. Joining a coloring group adds a social aspect to the mix.

All materials are provided free of charge; avid colorists are welcome to bring their own projects. For more information, call Karen Christiansen at (805) 237-3870.
