Community Foundation SLO County gives grant to Affordable Housing Paso Robles

Grant will help support Youth Works Employment to Empowerment project

Oak Park Paso Robles– Affordable Housing Paso Robles, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, has received a $10,000 grant from The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County (CFSLOCO). This grant will be used to expand its Youth Works development program, providing job skills training and work experience for Paso Robles youth aged 13-21.

Affordable Housing Paso Robles, an affiliate of Paso Robles Housing Authority, was chosen to receive this grant and is among 24 recipients, whose grants total $193,635.

This year’s grantmaking program is made possible through the generous support of the foundation’s Community Endowment and many donor funds held at the foundation. In only 16 years, the CFSLOCO has given out more than $26 million in grants to assist nonprofit agencies. For more information on the CFSLOCO or any funds, call (805) 543-2323 or log onto www.cfsloco.org.

Affordable Housing Paso Robles was initially formed in 2011 to provide development and tenant services to the Oak Park Community, an affordable housing project originally built in 1942. Their signature program Youth Works serves 200 children from Paso Robles and provides mentoring, homework help, work experience, job skills training, character development, and college scholarships.
