Annette was born in 1924 on a farm in California’s San Fernando Valley to parents Joseph and Sima Leko. She was the youngest of 7 children; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. During the 40’s, Annette met her soon-to-be husband, James while working at the Naval Post Exchange in Long Beach, California. For James, it was love at first sight. The couple soon married and had two wonderful children.

She is survived by her son Dennis and wife Diane; her grandson Kevin and wife Nicole; granddaughter Carrie and husband Josh; grandson Jimmy and wife La; grandson Rick along with 7 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. As a “Paso Roblan” for more than 35 years, her love and friendship stretched throughout the country.

During their life together in Paso Robles, James and Annette worshipped at St. Rose Catholic Church. Most recently, she attended church at the San Miguel Mission. She enjoyed her treasured doll collection, gardening, painting, and shopping, especially at thrift stores and estate sales with her dear friend Philomina Finn. The ladies were known as ‘regulars’ at Goodwill as they affectionately called the store their own “Fifth Avenue.” Annette cherished her family, friends and her community gathered in faith.

The memorial service will be held at the San Miguel Arc’angel Mission on Saturday, November 11 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow. The graveside service will be held on November 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery, 11160 Stranwood Ave., Mission Hills, Ca.
