Annual fundraiser supports local animal sanctuary
Third annual event returns Sept. 28
– Animal lovers of all ages are invited to the third annual fundraiser for From the Heart Animal Sanctuary on Saturday, Sept. 28, from noon to 3 p.m. The event will be held at 580 Linne Road, in The Iron Jungle Parking Lot.
A $10 donation per person, with discounts for families, includes an ice cream cone. The family-friendly event will feature bounce houses, a bounce arcade, an obstacle course, an interactive roping demonstration, and a balloon animal artist. Activities include a water balloon toss, a corn hole contest, face painting, a raffle and silent auction, animal appearances, live music, and a Paso Robles firetruck. Food will be available for purchase from the Yabba Dabba Dogs food truck, with wine and beer also for sale. Due to the nature of the event, no dogs are allowed.
The From the Heart Animal Sanctuary, founded by Leslie and Joe Thomas, rescues, rehabilitates, and provides forever homes for animals that have been marginalized or surrendered due to owner circumstances. The sanctuary is particularly known for caring for Siberian Huskies.
The sanctuary, located on Fat Goat Farm in Paso Robles, also serves as a venue for children’s art classes. Joe Thomas uses the animals to teach kids ages 5-12 about the physical and behavioral characteristics of each animal at the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center. This outreach aims to impart knowledge and compassion to the children.
From the Heart Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses from the community. For more information or to donate, call (805) 610-2149, email fromtheheartanimalsanctuary@gmail.com, or visit fromtheheartanimalsanctuary.org.
