Applications available for school district budget communication committee
–Vacancies exist for the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) Budget Communication Committee. Budget Communication Committee members will be chosen from qualified individuals.
Members will be chosen through a forced ranking process, utilizing input from the district’s executive cabinet and the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE) Fiscal Advisor. The term for this position will run from Nov. 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
The Budget Communication Committee will meet a minimum of three times each fiscal year, prior to each interim/budget/unaudited actual financial report that will be presented to the Board of Trustees.
The Budget Communication Committee will be composed of representatives from each employee association, the Board of Trustees, district management, the general public, and the Fiscal Advisor. The committee will be led by the district’s Chief Business Officer with concurrence from the SLOCOE Fiscal Advisor.
The committee members and the Fiscal Advisor will receive at a minimum the district’s Average Daily Attendance (ADA) projection and current enrollment, current Multi-Year (MYP) assumptions, ending fund balance and anticipated expenditures/savings that will be included in the interim report. The Budget Communication Committee’s central focus will be to update the district’s various constituencies on the district’s fiscal health, and not to set policy or priorities.
The functions and role of this committee will not conflict or be combined with the functions and roles of the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) input committees.
