Paso Robles company recognized for the second year in a row

Propane motorfuel provider ARRO Autogas, a division of Paso Robles propane company Delta Liquid Energy, was recognized for the second year in a row for its sustainability efforts at the 2015 Fleet Technology Expo on Aug. 26,  in Long Beach.

Delta Liquid Energy’s ARRO Autogas company fleet of vehicles stood out among national fleets for its accomplishments in green sustainability and efforts to reduce emissions and fuel consumption for several reasons: Most significantly, the company reduced its fuel emissions by 30-percent with 55-percent of their fleet running on propane autogas. Also, California Autogas vehicles are EPA and CARB certified and emit 12-percent less carbon dioxide, about 20-percent less nitrogen oxide, and up to 60-percent less carbon monoxide than gasoline-powered vehicles.

“I am honored that ARRO has received this award for our sustainability efforts and to be recognized as an environmental steward leader in the fleet industry again,” says ARRO Market Manager Ted Olsen. “I look forward to continuing to be involved in more sustainability and emission reduction programs moving forward.”

Recognizing fleet professionals throughout the nation who have demonstrated significant contributions to environmental sustainability and fleet efficiencies in the industry, the fifth annual Fleet Technology (formally named “Green Fleet”) award program, held during the annual Fleet Technology Expo, selected fleets nationwide for the award based on four criteria: Longevity (time in the fleet industry dedicated to sustainability efforts); accomplishments (examples of recent, significant sustainability achievements); innovation (innovative ways individuals have contributed to reducing emissions and fuel consumption); and industry involvement (involvement in industry-wide efforts to promote sustainable fleet solutions.)

“Delta Liquid Energy and ARRO Autogas not only support, but also promote this green, American-made, clean-burning fuel source – with a focus on sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint that extends into our offices and beyond,” Olsen says.

To enhance their green program, Delta Liquid Energy and ARRO Autogas initiated a recycling program at their nine branch locations and corporate office in Paso Robles in which blue recycle bins were made available at every desk. “This effort alone recycles 90-percent of the paper that the company generates,” said Olsen. “Additionally, two trash cans are utilized in the lunch room, one labeled ‘recycle’ and the other labeled ‘landfill.’ Those options actively engage the employees to participate in ‘green’ awareness.”

The Fleet Technology Expo concentrates on how to cost-effectively implement alternative fuel technologies like CNG, propane, electric and biofuels which can cut fuel costs and reduce fleet emissions.
