    – The Paso Robles Art Association is honoring the life and work of renowned artist Page (Nancy) Graeber with a tribute exhibit and sale running through Dec. 30 at Studios on the Park.

The exhibit features 47 of Graeber’s paintings displayed in a new gallery space recently added to the existing art association area inside Studios on the Park. The collection includes works dating back to the 1960s, showcasing the evolution of Graeber’s artistic range across a variety of mediums.

“We are proud to present this tribute to a dear friend, mentor, and great artist. Visitors will see a beautiful array of watercolors, oil paintings, and other mediums created through decades of her life,” said Kristene Thompson, president and events director of the arts association.

Graeber, who passed away recently following a brief illness, had a career marked by significant achievements. She graduated with a full scholarship from Chouinard Art Institute and went on to hold influential roles, including art director for a CBS affiliate in Los Angeles, manager of the advertising department for a Las Vegas newspaper, and owner of her own advertising agency. She also taught painting and received numerous awards for her artwork.

“Women just were not getting impressive jobs like this in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s,” said Kimberly Cruciani, a member of the arts association board of directors.

Graeber’s contributions to the local art community were extensive. She was a past president of the Paso Robles Art Association, a member of The Optimists, and a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She taught art at the Paso Robles Senior Center and was an active participant in the Painters Guild. Friends and colleagues remembered her as a positive and cheerful presence.

Proceeds from the tribute exhibit will benefit Adventure Club SLO, a local organization providing activities for youth with special needs. Graeber was especially enthusiastic about the group’s music program. More information about Adventure Club SLO is available at www.AdventureClubSLO.com.

The Paso Robles Art Association maintains two galleries inside Studios on the Park, showcasing a broad range of artistic talent from beginners to professionals. The arts association offers free membership to full-time high school and college students. Membership benefits include participation in the weekly Painters Guild with critique, a newly reforming Photo Guild, and a Pastels Guild, along with exhibit receptions. Additional details about the arts association can be found at PasoRoblesArtAssociation.org.
