Art contest now accepting entries

–The Campaign for the Preservation of Mission San Antonio de Padua has launched a Mission San Antonio de Padua themed art contest. Anyone ages five and up can participate in the free contest by creating an 11”x17” poster of Mission San Antonio de Padua or of something at this California mission. Any art medium is acceptable, but it must be created on the poster paper available at any of these locations:

  • Armanasco Public Relations, 787 Munras Avenue Suite 100 in Monterey
  • Hayashi & Wayland, 1188 Padre Drive # 101 in Salinas
  • Rio Farms, 48405 Lonoak Road in King City
  • Access Publishing, 607 Creston Road #2D in Paso Robles
  • Mission San Antonio de Padua, End of Mission Road in Jolan

 

Finished posters should also be dropped off at one of these locations. All entries are due by 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.

One winner from each of these four age group will be selected: 5 – 11 years old, 12-14 years old, 15-18 years old, and 19 and older. Winners will be selected based upon theme, age-appropriate skills, and creativity. Prizes include: $100 Amazon gift card for 5-11 age group, $250 Amazon gift card for 12-14 age group, $500 cash for 15-18 age group and $500 cash for 19 and older age group.

All posters will be judged at the Timeless Treasure dinner, auction and art show event being held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City. The event includes a BBQ dinner prepared by King City Young Farmers, live auction and music and is $40 per person. Winners will be announced at the event. Artists do not need to be at the event to win.
