At-risk missing person last seen in San Luis Obispo

The SLOPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Terrie Katz and her car, a Geo Prism like the car pictured above.

–On Thursday evening, the San Luis Obispo Police Department was contacted by family members of 67-year-old Morro Bay woman Terri Katz who wanted to report her missing. Katz was in San Luis Obispo for an appointment at 10 a.m. which she made. According to the family, Terri was supposed to return to Morro Bay after the appointment but she never arrived.

Katz’s family reports she suffers from short-term memory loss, and that her not returning home is highly unusual. Her car was called in as a possible DUI driver at 6:30 p.m. last night and was reported to be headed north on Highway 1 passing the California Men’s Colony. Officers from SLOPD and CHP responded but could not locate her vehicle. Investigators do not believe she was intoxicated, but rather, could be suffering from a medical emergency.

The SLOPD is asking for the public’s help in locating Katz and her car. The above photo of the Geo Prism is like Terri’s car; however, her family reports her car is showing surface rust typical of older coastal vehicles. The car is a sky blue, 1990, Geo Prism, California license plate 2UAT290.

If you have any information, contact the San Luis Obispo County Police Department at (805) 781-7317.
