Atascadero Recreation Division Giving out free reusable bags for summer camp sign-ups
-The City of Atascadero’s Recreation Division is getting ready to kick off registration for all of the summer camps and programs, and the first 100 people to register in person on Wednesday, May 9th for a summer class, camp or activity will receive a complimentary reusable bag. These special early-bird registrations will be taken at the Colony Park Community Center, located on Traffic Way. The doors open at 8 a.m.
Atascadero’s summer camps include a wide variety of summer activity options for all ages, including Lego Engineering, Scooter Camp at A-Town Park, Robotics, Art Discovery, Video Game Design, Volleyball Camp, Pickleball Camp, Babysitting, Chess Camp and Drama Shakespeare Camps and more. All of the summer camp activities will open for online registration beginning on Wednesday, May 9 at 8 a.m. The Summer Recreation Guide will be delivered to mailboxes on Thursday, May 10.
Do you have a teenager that is going to sit at home all summer, be bored and drive you crazy? The Teen Center is open to all youths going into 7th through 12th grades in the fall, and it’s $10 for a membership for the entire year. This summer, the Teen Center will be open from noon to 6 p.m. and will offer fun activities each week including Stadium Park hikes, water balloon wars, movies, free food, video games and more. With so many camps happening in the morning at the Colony Park Community Center, your teen can attend a camp and then head over to the Teen Center afterward, for snacks, movies, activities and more.
The Colony Park Community Center is located at 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero and the registration desk is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Online registration is available 24-7.
