Avett Brothers and Mike Patton bringing tour to Paso Robles

Tickets go on sale Dec. 5

    – Scott and Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers and Mike Patton will perform in Paso Robles on May 9 at Vina Robles Amphitheatre as part of their 2026 United States tour. The artists recently released a new self-titled album, AVTT/PTTN.

The tour will begin with the group’s festival debut at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Mar. 28. Additional stops include Nashville, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn, and other cities.

Tickets for the Paso Robles performance go on sale Dec. 5 at 12 p.m. through Ticketmaster.

Written by the Avetts and Patton and produced by Patton, Scott Avett, and engineer Dana Nielsen, the album grew from a long-developing creative connection among the three artists. “Mike’s part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth,” Scott said. “Literally, we studied him. He’s a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.” Patton said, “My peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some shit. They brought him out years and years later.”

The album opens with “Dark Night of My Soul,” which features acoustic guitar and three-part harmonies from Patton and the Avetts. Other tracks include “The Ox Driver’s Song,” “Heaven’s Breath,” “Eternal Love,” “To Be Known,” “Too Awesome,” “Disappearing,” “The Things I Do” and “Received.” The group said the songs were created in stages, with Scott sketching early ideas, Patton reshaping them and Seth reimagining them further.

The Avett Brothers are four-time Grammy Award nominees whose past albums include I and Love and You; The Carpenter; Magpie and the Dandelion; True Sadness; Closer Than Together; and The Third Gleam. Their work has been featured in the documentary May It Last: A Portrait of The Avett Brothers, and the band is in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.

Patton has performed with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle and has worked on numerous musical collaborations. His career includes film composition, voice acting and the founding of Ipecac Recordings.
